My son's birthday has come and gone and school is about to start up again. Yahoo! He got to celebrate three times this year with family and friends and a long trip across 8 states.... but only one cake was documented (my camera broke mid July and I still have yet to replace it)! So... these are not staged photos or very detailed oriented. They were taken at the party site (a skate rink), so there is lots of background 'noise.' Finn wanted "a Lego cake with a king on top". We decided he was 'King Leo', although I think 'Leon' was really what he wanted to be called..... =]
The cake was an ultra rich chocolate, covered with chocolate butter-cream frosting and fondant. The cakes were: an 11x15" base, one standard loaf pan, and 4 mini loaf pans. The King was all fondant/gumpaste, as were the banner flags he holds.
Thank you everyone who helped us celebrate Finn's birthday this year, here in Wilmington, and through D.C. and Pennsylvania!
